These farm scene prints from pencil drawings are drawn and published by the artist, Carla Tyacke to bring back memories of a disappearing scene in our country life. The farm equipment prints were commissioned by Bourgault Industries for their 25th anniversary to show the change in time, and appropriately named
Anticipation and
Appreciation. Anticipation of better times? Appreciation of more efficient times? Notice the change of equipment, the road, the landscape. Quite a change in the last 25 years.
Another disappearing landmark on our western prairies is the grain elevator, another indication of change. Just a few years ago while travelling you could spot every approaching town on the prairies by its symbolic grain elevators, now with the new concrete elevators they are fewer and far between. With the disappearing grain elevators it has brought about change to our rural areas. What once brought people to town has now but almost faded, somehow the towns are dying along with the wooden grain elevators. Carla's prairie grain elevator prints are appropriately named
Prairie Landmark and
Hometown Saskatchewan, both of which portray a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Elevator and a Paterson Elevator.
The Limited Edition Lithograph Prints are printed on the highest quality rag stock and the print numbers are kept low to therefore increase the collectible value and rarity of the piece. It is essential to the artist that the print image is as equal in quality to the original pencil drawing as imaginably possible. Each print is numbered by the artist herself and signed.
